When a young prince asked a certain philosopher to give him a directory for his conduct, all his instructions were comprised in one sentence: “Remember that you are a king’s son!” All Christians are advanced to spiritual honors of the most exalted kind. They are the children of God, and heirs of the eternal kingdom–and ought to resemble their heavenly Father, who is the God of holiness. Their dignity obliges them to a behavior worthy of it, and of Him whose grace has conferred it.
Let Christians remember who they are, and how they came to be what they are–and act in befitting character!
As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as He who called you is holy–so be holy in all you do; for it is written: Be holy, because I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:14-16
